Day 1: Arrival to EZE International Airport

On arrival to the airport, you will be picked up by an English-speaking driver. We will take you to your hotel in Buenos Aires.

Afternoon activity: Highlights of Buenos Aires tour (duration 3.5 hours). Buenos Aires neighborhoods each have a distinctive character, from the historic barrios of San Telmo and La Boca, to the beautiful parks and plazas of Palermo and Recoleta, and the modern skyscrapers of Puerto Madero. This small-group tour is ideal for first-time visitors or those short on time, visiting all of the top attractions in just three hours. After pick-up from your Buenos Aires hotel, set out to explore the city aboard an air-conditioned vehicle. Jump out to see the grand Plaza de Mayo and Casa Rosada, where some of the most important events in Argentine history have played out. Explore the cobblestone lanes, tango venues, and street markets of San Telmo, one of the city's oldest districts, then continue to waterfront La Boca to admire the colorful houses of Caminito Street and the famous Bombonera stadium. Continue through the affluent docklands of Puerto Madero with its modern high-rise buildings, then head north to walk around the leafy parks and lively plazas. Finally, make a stop in Recoleta, where the star attraction is the Recoleta Cemetery, home to Evita's grave. Your Buenos Aires city sightseeing bus tour ends with drop-off back at your hotel.

On arrival to FTE (El Calafate), you will be picked up at the airport and transferred to the bus station, to take your bus to El Chalten. This is a big bus and the ride can take around 4 hours, so we recommend you to take along a book so you can read during this trip.

Day 3: Full day Hike to Laguna de los Tres

Today, you're set to hike the 12.5 km round-trip to Laguna de Los Tres: a clear lagoon at the foot of Mount Chalten. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and striking granite peaks, this hike has some short steep sections, but as one of the most frequented hikes, the terrain itself is not hugely difficult. You can expect to walk from 6 to 9 hours on clearly marked and well-maintained paths. Wind and rain may be the main challenges you face on these hikes. Once hike ends, you will go to your hotel.

Overnight at a 4* Hotel in El Chalten (Hosteria Fitz Roy or Vertical Lodge or similar).

This is one of the few balanced glaciers in the world and at 3 km (1.8 miles) wide and 30 km (19 miles) long, is a spectacular sight. There are multiple viewing platforms overlooking Lake Argentino, and they provide an ideal vantage point to watch and listen to the crack of the ice as it plunges into the waters below. There is also the option to embark on a Glacier cruise called Safari Nautico, it last around 1 hour navigation, or even add a mini-hike on part of the Moreno glacier. In the route, you will see the local flora, the Nordenskjöld Lake, and the hanging glaciers. After 4 or 5 hours walk, you will reach your destination, Los Cuernos, where you can take the best photographs. But if you prefer, you have time to take a visit to Salto Grande - the park's biggest waterfall. Important: the treks are classed as moderate to difficult, and venture along clearly marked trails.
