Itinerary

Experience the African Culture with the Maasai Community

Live amongst one of the few tribes in the country that still retain their rich culture. Discover the fascinating lifestyle of the Maasai by learning to build a Manyatta, make fire without matches, cook with firewood, herd cattle in the wild, and immerse in the singing and dancing of the Maasai Warriors among other captivating activities.

Itinerary

Day 1: Journey to Masai Mara

Depart Nairobi for the Masai Mara - Early morning after breakfast, start the Safari to Maasai Mara with a scenic stopover at the Great Rift Valley escarpment for a photo session. Continue to a Maasai Village outside Maasai Mara Game Reserve, greeted by a welcome song and dance from the Warriors and Women. Check into your Manyatta and enjoy an authentic African lunch. Interact with the village members in the afternoon, learning about their way of life, the building of a Manyatta, jewelry making, cooking, and herding livestock. Evening entertainment includes song and dance around a bonfire, enriched with stories and history from the elders. Stay overnight in a Maasai Manyatta.

Day 2: Full Day at Masai Mara

After breakfast, embark on a full-day game viewing drive at the Mara National Park to catch sight of the Big 5, explore the Mara River, and perhaps glimpse the border of Serengeti and Maasai Mara. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the picturesque spots of the park. Return to the Manyatta in the evening, where you will participate in preparing dinner, including slaughtering a goat and learning to barbecue in the traditional African way. Experience making fire without matchsticks and enjoy the company of your hosts as they share traditional songs. The evening's entertainment continues till midnight. Stay overnight in a Maasai Manyatta.

Day 3: Return to Nairobi

Commence the day with an early morning game drive to spot any unseen animals, followed by breakfast and check-out. Bid farewell to your new family and depart for Nairobi, carrying with you memories of a truly immersive cultural experience.
