Joshua’s Amazon Expeditions

Embark on a guided adventure into the Amazon jungle with Joshua’s Amazon Expeditions. This 5-day trip includes two nights spent in the dense jungle itself, offering an unparalleled opportunity to explore the forest in a non-conventional way. Small group sizes ensure a quieter environment to better hear your guide and increase your chances of spotting exotic wildlife. With a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 people per guide, this tour promises an intimate and thrilling experience in the Amazon Jungle of Brazil.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Journey Begins

Start with a pickup from your hotel at 8am and transfer to Ceasa port for a speed boat ride through the Rio Negro to the floating village of Catalao. Visit a fish farm for the giant Arapaima Gigas, continue to the meeting of the waters, then travel to Careiro Village and onto Maçarico lake, arriving at the lodge for lunch. Afternoon activities include a canoe trip to watch dolphins, bird watching, piranha fishing, and sunset viewing, followed by dinner and cayman spotting.

Day 2: Exploring the Jungle

Wake up early for sunrise viewing and listening to the awakening forest. After breakfast, embark on a jungle trek to learn about the rainforest, its medicinal plants, and potentially spot monkeys and other wildlife. Post-lunch, enjoy canoeing in the flooded forest or walking in the dry season, perfect for observing the unique flora and fauna. Return to the lodge for the night.

Day 3: Local Culture and Overnight in the Jungle

After breakfast, visit a local family to learn about their lifestyle in the Amazon. Enjoy river swimming before heading out to camp in the rainforest. Prepare dinner with the group, followed by a night-time fishing demonstration. Overnight in hammocks.

Day 4: Survival Techniques and More

Learn survival techniques, partake in spear fishing, trekking, and nocturnal canoeing in the jungle. Spend another night in the wilderness, sleeping in hammocks.

Day 5: Return to Civilization

Return to the lodge by 11:00am. After lunch, depart back to Manaus, arriving by approximately 4:30pm.
