Champagne Region Day Tour Itinerary

Morning Departure

07:30 Pickup from your hotel and Departure destination Champagne: 07:30 Pickup from the central meeting point at Opera Garnier Steps or the reception desk of your hotel if the option is booked. Departure destination Champagne region. There are approx. 140 km to drive on a highway. One stop at a rest area will be made. The ride takes about 2 hours, and part of it goes along the picturesque Champagne landscapes and vineyards.

Champagne le Gallais Visit

10:00 - 11:15 visit the local medium family producer Champagne le Gallais on the top of the hills with beautiful panoramic views over vineyards. Guided visit of the Cellars and production section by a family member or one of their team. Explanations about the Champagne making process and tasting of 2 glasses with descriptions. 11:15 Departure to Epernay (10 km). It takes about 15 minutes.

Champagne Mercier Experience

11:30 - 13:00. Arrival in Epernay. Visit Mercier Champagne house with a guided tour through the underground cellars and Champagne degustation of 2 glasses of Champagne. Mercier is Number 1 in the French market.

Lunch in Épernay

13:00 - 14:30 Lunch break in Épernay. We can make a reservation for You or You at a good local restaurant. Épernay is known as the Champagne Capital of France. Located along the Marne river surrounded by the wine hills it is home of many region’s most prestigious champagne houses. Épernay is a must for champagne lovers. Walk the Avenue of Champagne attracts many tourists. 14:30 Departure to the Pressoria Museum in Ay village. It takes just 10 minutes (4 km).

Pressoria Museum Discovery

14:45 - 16:00 Visit of Pressoria Museum in Ay village telling us the History of the Champagne region and Champagne production with the Champagne degustation of 2 glass of Champagnes. 16:00 Departure to Hautvillers. It takes about 10 minutes (6 km).

Visit the Abbey's Church of Hautvillers

16:10 Visit the Abbey's Church of Sindulphe d'Hautvillers (Abbaye Saint-Pierre d'Hautvillers). It is a former Benedictine monastery. The Abbey was founded in 665 and remained active till the French Revolution 1789. Dom Perignon has developed the wine making methods in the region of Champagne. Nowadays there are 26 local Champagne producers in the village. 16:30 Stop at the View point with best Panoramic views over the vineyards and Marne river. 16:40 Departure to the local Champagne family producer Mangin. Epernay. It takes just 20 minutes (18 km).

Champagne Mangin et Fils Tasting

17:00 - 17:30 Visit of the small local family Champagne producer Mangin et Fils. Tasting of 3 Glass of Champagne: Brut, Brute Nature et Rose. 17:30 Departure to Paris. It takes 2 to 2,5 hours depending on traffic (135 km).

Evening Return to Paris

20:00 Coming back to Paris to the Opera Garnier steps or Drop off at Your hotel if option booked.
