The excursion lasts approximately 2 hours, during which you'll engage in an exciting quest for wildlife and sea exploration.
This premium, small-group whale watching tour employs specially engineered RIB boats, designed to bring you closer and quicker to the whales and puffins than ever before. The advanced design of these stable and safe boats expands our search area, significantly enhancing your chances of encountering whales, dolphins, and various birdlife.
The adventure begins at the Old Harbour in downtown Reykjavík, where we first visit one of three islands close to the harbour to marvel at breeding puffins (between May 1 and August 20). We then venture further into the sea in pursuit of whales and dolphins. Experiencing these magnificent creatures up close from the vantage of our RIB boats is an adventure and experience of a lifetime. As we return to Reykjavík, we'll cruise along the city's shoreline, offering unique views of the city, the iconic Sólfar (Sun Voyager) viking ship sculpture, and the mesmerizing Harpa Concert Hall.
Please note that this tour requires a minimum of two passengers to operate. Should this minimum not be met, we offer the option to reschedule or provide a full refund. Certain individuals may find this tour unsuitable, including seniors (65+ years), pregnant women, or those with a history of heart or back problems. Participants must be able to stand in their seat (minimum age 10 years or height of 145 cm) and fit into one of our provided overalls (up to size 3XL) to join. A waiver must be signed upon arrival, and it is necessary to make your own way to the Old Harbour, arriving no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure. While pickups are not available, if no whales or dolphins are spotted, we don’t offer refunds but instead provide a complimentary ticket for our Classic Whale Watching tour, valid for two years. Our specially engineered RIB boats get you closer and faster to the whales and puffins than our bigger boats. These stable and safe boats also allow us to search a bigger area, thus increasing your likelihood of viewing the whales, dolphins and birdlife.
This fantastic whale watching tour starts from the Old Harbour in downtown Reykjavik. First we ride out to one of three islands close to the harbour and check out the breeding puffins (season 1 May - 20 August). Next we head out further in search of whales and dolphins. Seeing the wildlife as up close as you can from our RIB boats is a once in a lifetime adventure and experience. After exploring the wonders of the sea we sail back to Reykjavik, where we will ride along the city shoreline. Along the coast we will have views of the city from a unique angle, Solfarid viking ship sculpture and mesmerising Harpa Concert Hall.
