Your first encounter will be with the breathtaking Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Famous for its 60-meter drop, Seljalandsfoss offers a unique experience of walking behind the waterfall, where you can peer through the cascading water from a spacious cavern. The spectacle continues at Skógafoss waterfall, where the mist from the thunderous fall touches your skin. Here, you have the chance to ascend all 527 steps to the top, where a panoramic view of the waterfall's descent to the Atlantic awaits.

Post the mesmerizing waterfall experiences, a well-earned lunch break will refuel you for the day's highlight. The journey proceeds to the majestic Sólheimajökull Glacier, an extension of the larger Mýrdalsjökull ice cap, under which the mighty Katla Volcano slumbers. Explore & walk on an Icelandic glacier

Travel along the south coast of Iceland, visiting the incredible waterfalls of Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, go hiking on a glacier and then visit the famous Reynisfjara black sand beach on one of the must-do day tours from Reykjavík. The tour starts with a drive through the Hellisheiði mountain pass bringing you through moss-covered lava fields and past geothermal springs down to farmland along the beautiful southern coastline.

The first stop will be the stunning Seljalandsfoss waterfall which is one of Icelands most famous attractions, with a dramatic 60-meter drop. To get a different perspective you can take a walk behind the waterfall into a wide cavern and look through the wall of water.

The next destination is Skógafoss waterfall. Up close, you will be able to feel the water spray on your face and you can also climb up the hill (all 527 steps) to see the majestic 60-meter-high waterfall from above and witness the water plummet down on its way to the Atlantic Ocean.

After experiencing the waterfalls, well take a lunch break.

After lunch, we head to the rugged Sólheimajökull Glacier for the highlight of the tour! Sólheimajökull is an outlet glacier that flows from the main ice cap of Mýrdalsjökull where the mighty Katla Volcano rests. You will walk on the glacier, wearing special crampons on your shoes and explore the amazing cracks, crevasses and ice expertly lead by a certified glacier guide.

We will make one final stop before heading back to Reykjavik, at the renowned Reynisfjara, also known as the Black Sand Beach, which was recently added to Trip Advisors Top 10 beaches in the world. Its every photographers dream, with powerful Atlantic waves crashing on the beach with a backdrop of jagged basalt sea stacks and the huge basalt-column cave.

Itinerary:

Day 1. Reykjavik:

Pick up starts at the scheduled departure time of your voucher and can take up to 30 minutes. We ask our passenger to be ready at their listed location so they can be easily found.

Day 1. Sólheimajökull Glacier:

The Solheim Glacier is a magnificent and humbling site to behold, it is a glacial tongue extension of the Myrdalsjökull glacier. When we arrive there, you will be outfitted by the Icelandic Mountain Guides with all the necessary equipment for hiking and exploring the cracks and crevasses of the glacier.

Day 1. Skógafoss Waterfall:

Along the return trip to Reykjavik, we will stop at the powerful 65 meter tall Skógafoss Waterfall where a short walk up a flight of steps will reveal one of Icelands most scenic views of glaciers, volcanoes and black sandy beaches. With viewpoints both above and directly next to the waterfall, photographers will have plenty of chances to capture that unique shot.

Day 1. Seljalandsfoss:

The Seljalandsfoss waterfall is for many guests the highlight of this trip, as you can walk along this waterfall offering a completely unique perspectives! From here we will spend about 1.5 hours in the coach returning to Reykjavik.

Day 1. Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach:

This one of the most famous and most visited sites in all of Iceland. Marvel at the unique volcanic black sand beach of Reyisfjara with rising basalt columns, a large basalt stone cave which has been battered by heavy oceanic waves. There is a cafe located at Reynisfjara where you can buy some snack or use the restrooms if needed.
