Itinerary
- Introduction and Transportation:
The tour begins with pick-up from your accommodation in Reykjavík. Pick-up is usually at 9:30am. The pick-up time can be selected when booking this tour. During the one-hour drive to Thingvellir National Park, your guide will introduce you to the unique geological and cultural history of Silfra and the surrounding area. Alternatively, you can meet directly at the Silfra meeting point in Thingvellir National Park if you have your own transportation. - Briefing and Gear-Up:
Upon arrival at the Silfra Meeting Point, your guide will give you a detailed briefing about the dive site and assist you in setting up your dive equipment. This includes using high-quality SCUBA equipment and ensuring that all divers meet the necessary certification requirements. - Dive Experience:
The tour includes one dive lasting about 30-40 minutes, with a maximum depth of 18 meters. During the dive, you will explore the four main parts of Silfra, each offering unique underwater scenery, including narrow sections, a hall, a cathedral, and a lagoon. - Post-Dive Activities:
After the dive, you will make your way back along a 250-meter path with your dive gear. Then, you'll have the opportunity to warm up with hot chocolate and cookies while chatting with your guide and potentially purchasing photos taken during the tour. - Return Transportation:
The tour includes transportation between Reykjavík and Silfra in comfortable vans, with pick-up and drop-off at your accommodation in Reykjavík.

Important Notes
- Participants must be certified divers at the level of PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent.
- All divers must have dry suit diving certification OR provide written proof from a diving instructor of 10 logged dry suit dives within two years of the tour date.
- Participants must read, sign, and follow directions on the online Diving Silfra Medical Statement provided in the confirmation email.
- Please contact us before booking if you are older than 60 years old.
- Participants must sign a liability release form at the start of the Silfra dive tour.
- Participants must be between 150cm and 200cm in height and weigh between 45kg and 120kg.
- Participants must be at least 17 years of age, and a signature of a legal guardian is required for under 18-year-old participants.
- Participants must be physically fit and able to communicate in English.
- Participants must be prepared to wear a sometimes tight and constricting dry suit.
- Pregnant individuals are not allowed to participate in the tour.
